Mixtapes. I used to make a LOT of 'em. I fell off in recent years as I got deeper into music production, but I still considered myself firt and foremost a DJ. Well, here I am. After an embarrassing amount of time since making my last mixtape, here I am. My first, full-fledged effort to brush up on my dj'ing skills in a while.

I'm calling this one "Gems" as it contains a few of my favorite, "non-mainstream" songs over the years. There are some issues with sound quality (it varies, but it starts too loud...it gets somewhat better), and a couple parts could be a little tighter (shaking off the rust); but I'm pretty pleased with the results overall. It was fun to do and I certainly will be making and sharing more of these. Maybe one a week, but most likely every other week. They'll all clock in at between 50-60 minutes and will be held together by some sort of "theme" for the sake of cohesiveness- one I'll either arbitrarily decide 30 minutes before the mood strikes to make one, or one I would have decided on days before (like an "artist retrospective" or "best of 1995" (hey, that's a good one...)).
